The Wayne Bulldogs travel to Dibble Friday night for a date with the Demons.

Dibble (6-2) is loaded this season and can score points in bunches.

“They’ve been putting up insane numbers this season,” Wayne head coach Brandon Sharp said. “It’s video game stuff.”

Dibble scored 82 points against Wynnewood and 76 points against Healdton.

The Demons operate out of multiple formations on offense and try to play fast.

“They run a no huddle and go fast to get as many snaps as they can,” Sharp said. “We will have to play sound defense and create turnovers to win.”

Dibble is a run first team and they will try to impose their will on the opposing defense.

The Demon defense is loaded with talented athletes and Sharp said they are two or three players deep at positions.

“They can substitute a lot and keep their kids fresh,” he said. “You don’t usually have that in Class A football and when you do you can do a lot of things with it. We’re in for a big fight this week.”

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Healdton

Wayne lost to Healdton 28-20 on Friday night.

The Bulldogs had their chances in the game but were unable to capitalize on key opportunities to score.

“The defense gave good effort but we gave up a couple big plays,” Sharp said. “The defense played better in the fourth quarter.”

Wayne’s first score came in the second quarter on the legs of Jaxon Dill. The junior signal caller crossed the goal line after a 15-yard scamper and capped the drive by making good on the two point conversion.

Braden McClendon found Max McGlory on a 30-yard pass in the third quarter.

McClendon, who was thrust into duty after Sloan Jackson was injured, finished the night with 50 yards rushing, 30 yards passing and 42 yards receiving.

“He did a good job coming in,” Sharp said. “A lot of the game plan was for Sloan so we had to put that behind us.”

Dill scored Wayne’s final TD in the fourth quarter on a one-yard plunge.

Dill ended the night 8-14 through the air for 111 yards passing, and 68 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on 17 carries.

“Jaxon played well and he’s improved every week,” Sharp said. “He’ll only continue to get better.”

Duke Moore led the team defensively and registered nine stops on the night.

Eli Hobson had seven tackles and Bradey VanSchuyver had four tackles and a fumble recovery.

McClendon was a busy boy during the game and came up with an interception.

Wayne is 1-7 this season.
