Washington defeated Holdenville twice Monday to put their District record at a perfect 10-0.

They won the first game 11-0 and took an 8-0 W in the second.

Jackson Mays struck out 11 batters while only giving up one hit.

Offensively, Owen Andrews was 3-3 with a double and four RBIs.

Jack Brady was 2-2 with two ribbies.

In the second game, a five-run first inning was all Liam Keltner needed as he pitched his way to the win. He struck out three while allowing one walk.

Kinser Scott tripled and knocked in two batters at the plate.

“We pitched it well and defended it really well,” head coach Brad Lucas said of the two shutouts.

The Warriors didn’t have an error in either game.

Marlow Festival

The Warriors dropped both of their games in the Marlow Festival.

They lost 11-3 to Marlow and 7-1 to Elgin.

“Marlow and Elgin are both really good,” Lucas said. “Marlow played well and we had a couple uncharacteristic mistakes on defense. Usually we field and pitch it well.”

Liam Keltner provided the Warriors their offense in the game with a second-inning three-run homer.

Andrews struck out six batters on the mound but was credited for six earned runs.

Elgin

Washington never found a rhythm on offense in their loss to Elgin.

“We just couldn’t string any hits together,” Lucas said. “We pitched it well against a really good team.”

Andrews was 1-3 and scored the lone run.

“Our mind set is still good. If we stay together and stay the course we can still have a really good season,” Lucas said. “(The losses) were a little bump in the road not a road block. Our goal is still there in the end.”

Washington, now 19-5, will travel to Duncan for the Southern Oklahoma Invitational Festival.

They are scheduled to play Woodward, Calumet and Duncan April 9-11.

“It will be a good test for us this weekend.
