Virtual open house on SH-74 bridge replacement at Goldsby

Posted

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual open house to present proposed plans to replace the SH-74 bridge over I-35 at Goldsby in McClain County.

A virtual open house website and an online survey were made available for the public’s review in 2022. Five alternatives were presented to the public for consideration and input.

The bridge replacement project will accommodate the future improvement of I-35 to a six-lane facility, while improving all horizontal and vertical alignments in the I-35/SH-74 interchange to current design standards.

ODOT has selected to replace and widen the bridge over I-35, keeping traffic open during construction and reducing effects to Airport Rd. A new roundabout will be built on the south side of I-35 for SH-74, West Frontage Road and the I-35 southbound on and off ramps.

The existing roundabout on the north side of I-35 will remain. West Frontage Road will be rebuilt from the new ramp south to the existing ramp.

ODOT is hosting a virtual open house though Tuesday, November 12, at www.odot.org/SH74Goldsby.

SH-74 Bridge Replacement Virtual Open House, project information, timeline and comment form will be available online now through Tuesday, November 12, at https://www.publicinput.com/sh74overi35.

All comments must be received on or before Tuesday, Nov.12, 2024.
