Two stolen cars in Purcell

Posted

Purcell Police investigated not one but two reports of stolen vehicles December 11.

Officer Todd Carpenter was called to the Conoco North convenience store at 1738 North Green Avenue just after 8 a.m.

A 2008 GMC pickup belonging to Candaice M. Whitaker had been taken.

The vehicle was later recovered but an iphone was missing from the cab.

Later that day officer Brooke Gaines was called to 805 S. Green Avenue.

David L. Thompson of Lexington had gone into Steeped and Starched to pick up his dry cleaning.

When he returned to his vehicle, a 2011 Ford F350 pickup, it was gone.

According to police, store owner Melinda Lynn noticed a man about 6’ tall with dark hair, dark eyes, dark facial hair wearing a black T-shirt and denim jeans walking around.

Lt. James Bolling located the truck at 1200 North 9th Street at the Purcell Village Apartments.

Police could not find a person matching the description but did get the truck back minus an iphone, seven $100 bills and 25 one dollar bills.

Both incidents are under investigation.
