Two injured in wreck

Both transported to OU Medical

A grinding two-vehicle accident April 16 just after 5 p.m. resulted in two people being transported to OU Medical Center for treatment.

According to Lexington Policeman Canton Myers, a 2005 gray Chevy Silverado, driven by Jeffrey Wayne Jones, 48, of Lexington and a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Bobby Lynn Hunter, 62, of Lexington collided at 5:14 at the intersection of North Main Street and Center Street in Lexington.

Police said Jones’ Chevrolet pickup was southbound on Main and attempted to make a turn onto Center Street.

The Hunter Nissan was passing through the intersection when the collision occurred.

The pickup struck the Nissan on the driver’s side injuring both Bobby Hunter and his passenger Jamie Hunter.

Both Hunters were transported to OU Medical Center, one by MediFlight and one by Wadleys EMS.

Myers said Jones was driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrersted.

The conditions of the injured was not available.
