The McClain County Sheriff’s Department investigated a truck stuck on the railroad tracks between Purcell and Wayne last Monday morning.
McClain County Sheriff Sergeant James Nail said when he arrived the truck was high centered on the tracks at 170th and U.S. 77 around 8 a.m.
Nail said 170th was closed for one hour and 15 minutes for the Brown Trucking Company vehicle to be removed.
U.S. 77 was closed to traffic for about 20 minutes while the truck was taken off the tracks.
Dispatch immediately notified Burlington Northern of the situation and all train traffic was stopped.
“One of their representatives came out,” Nail said.
After the track was cleared Nail said he headed back to Purcell and saw an Amtrak train parked just north of the location where the truck was stranded.
There were no injuries and train service was restored.
