Nine parents have dates in court

A truancy docket hearing in McClain County District Court is set for nine parents who fail to compel their child to attend school.

Three of the parents are from Purcell and the remaining half-dozen are from Dibble.

Collectively, their children have missed 110 days of school.

Rachel Chapman’s 11-year-old has missed 19 days of school at Dibble Elementary.

Kim Dobbs’ 16-year-old Purcell High School student has been absent 17 days.

The 7-year-old child of Lihiana Lopez has missed 14 days at Purcell Elementary, while Kayse Summers’s 8-year-old has a dozen absences.

The children of three parents each have 10 absences. They include Randi Hickman’s 6-year-old, Purcell Elementary; Grace and Ricky Kirkham’s 11-year-old,  Dibble Elementary; and Maria Garrido’s 5-year-old, Dibble Elementary.

Aracely Perez’s 14-year-old has missed eight days at Dibble Middle School.
