Treats on the Trail this Saturday

Posted

Saturday looks to be a perfect fall day for a walk in the park.

Or as it happens, Treats on the Trail.

The National Weather Service has forecast a high of 61 and a 20 percent chance of rain – just enough to settle the dust.

The trick-or-treat event sponsored by the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce will be 3 to 6 p.m. along the walking trail at Purcell Lake.

“This event is a long-honored tradition in Purcell and sees thousands of visitors every year,” according to the chamber’s Facebook page.

For many years, it was a fixture on Main Street. This is the second year that Halloween of the Heart has been at the lake.

The main corporate sponsor this year is OEC Fiber.

Among the attractions will be food trucks, Mr. Yeti’s Hot Chocolate, inflatables, face painting, first responders and a monster truck.

Oh, and don’t forget the games. And certainly don’t forget the trick-or-treating.

The chamber reports more than 40 businesses will be handing out those treats and running the games.

The event is open to all area residents.

And for kids in Purcell, it will be the first trick-or-treat opportunity this Halloween.

House-to-house trick-or-treat in Purcell will be on Halloween which is Monday.
