A shed just south and west of the Purcell Train Depot was completely destroyed by a fire about 11:25 a.m. February 26.

Lexington Fire Department provided mutual aid in the form of a tanker truck to Purcell Firefighters who battled not only the small structure fire but some grass and trees had to be extinguished. No one was injured.

Firefighters spent a little over 1 1/2 hours at the scene. Purcell fire officials suspect the fire was started by homeless individuals.
