A thunderstorm that rumbled its way through the Heart of Oklahoma earl Sunday morning brought a much needed and welcome drink of water to the area.
Unofficially, Purcell received 2.5” with some parts of town, especially in the northern part of town getting up to 3.5”.
Dibble collected 3.2” and a gauge in Blanchard measured 4.5”.
That soaker brings the total in Purcell to 15.4” for the year which is a paltry sum compared to this same time last year when the area had recorded 34.64”.
Oklahoma City has recorded 13.22” and Pauls Valley has both OKC and Purcell beat with 20.12” recorded this year.
Additional rain was predicted for Thursday and Sunday.
