Thomas Edward McKelvain died August 25, 2021 in Lindsey, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years 11 months 18 days. Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Rosedale Baptist Church in Rosedale, Oklahoma. Interment followed at the Hopping Cemetery in Wayne, Oklahoma, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Tom was born September 7, 1938 in Velma, Oklahoma, to Foster Levi and Velma A. (Romine) McKelvain. He was raised in Elmore City, graduating in 1957.
On November 9, 1958, Tom married Alice Ruth Short in Gainsville, Texas. He worked many years as a truck driver before his retirement. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse roping. He was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Velma McKelvain in 1976; his father, Foster McKelvain in 2000; his son, Ricky McKelvain in 2001; and his brother, Bob McKelvain in 2018.
Survivors include his wife, Alice McKelvain of the home; his son, Larry McKelvain of Ferris, Texas; his son, Gary McKelvain of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
