Most people will be glad to have some time off next week as the nation observes the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Purcell Register will be closed Thursday and Friday, as will state offices, the McClain County Courthouse and city offices in Purcell, Lexington, Goldsby, Washington and Wayne.
Thanksgiving is a federal holiday on Thursday only. There will be no mail delivery that day.
Area schools – Purcell, Lexington, Washington and Wayne – will be on a week long break which begins Monday, November 25, and will run through Friday, November 29.
The holiday break is a bit shorter at Mid-America Technology Center. It begins Wednesday and continues through Friday.
First United Bank will be closed on Thursday, but will have usual business hours on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
McClain Bank will be closed on Thursday and the lobby will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday but the drive-thru will have regular hours.
The bank will have usual lobby and drive-thru hours on Friday and regular drive-thru on Saturday.
