Tamara M. Weiland, 62, of St. Edward, Nebraska, died Monday, September 16, 2024, at Genoa Long Term Care in Genoa, Nebraska
Tamara Weiland was born May 12, 1962, in Germany to Samuel and Eva Lawanna (Wheeler) McWhirter. She graduated from Purcell, Oklahoma, High School and went to work in the family nursing home business in Lexington, Oklahoma. Tamara later started an in-home daycare.
In 1987, Tamara was united in marriage to Jose San Miguel. They later divorced, and Tamara moved to Minot, North Dakota, where she worked in a group home for a few years. She most recently moved to Nebraska to live with her daughter Samantha.
Tamara loved helping take care of her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, OU football and softball, and watching “Big Brother”.
Tamara is survived by her daughter, Samantha (Burke) Trudel of St. Edward, Neb.; son, Jordan San Miguel of Yukon, Okla.; four grandchildren; sister, Sherrie McWhirter of Lexington, Okla.; sister , Dorothy (Eniliano) Celaya of Lexington, Okla.; brother, Marion McWhirter of Lexington, Okla.; and nieces and nephews.
Tamara was preceded in death by his father, Samuel McWhirter; mother, Eva Lawanna Mitchell; infant sister, Deandra Gail Wheeler and sister, Gaythya Scott.
The family will have a gathering for Tamara’s friends at the Genoa LTC in the near future. Memorial services for Tamara will take place in Oklahoma this coming spring of 2025.
