This part of the state was thankfully spared from the predicted strong tornadoes Monday and Monday night.
But the northern half of the state got pounded by the strong storms including wiping Barnsdall off the face of the earth.
Also missing Monday was any rainfall but Purcell remains ahead of this time last year and ahead of what has been recorded at Will Roger World Airport.
So far in 2024 Purcell has unofficially recorded 16.4” of rain compared to 10.1” this same time last year.
Purcell received .3” on May 5 when .63” fell in Washington and Byars getting 1.02”.
Oklahoma City has recorded 9.40” this year with the normal year-to-date total sitting at 9.94”.
