It’s apparently going to be a long and tedious spring storm season.

Cancer is an insidious disease that knows no age limits and takes no prisoners.

Take this past week when 47-year-old Chase Griffith, a member of the 1994 and last State Championship basketball team Purcell has fielded, died from kidney cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is pretty much a death sentence.

Earlier this year it was the demise of very dear family friend Greg Dixon.

And this past week it claimed the life of Gracie and my sister-in-law Chris Evans of Tulsa.

We felt encouraged at the first when doctors said it was the kind of pancreatic cancer that was operable.

But as it turned out in the end early Monday morning, the outcome was just the same as others that have been diagnosed.

Our hearts are heavy as we pray for all those suffering from any type of cancer.
