A thunderstorm that blew through the area late last Saturday night dumped up to .5” of rain on the area.
Hail from pea size up to golf ball size in some areas came along with the rain.
In Purcell proper, the hail was pea to nickle size.
The further south, the bigger the hail. Residents reported the hail was up to golf ball size just a couple of miles south of Purcell.
The weekend rain, coupled with the .3” that fell early Wednesday morning, brings Purcell’s unofficial total to 4.37. The normal for the year-to-date is 5.09”. Oklahoma City has recorded 2.98”.
Additional rain was in the forecast.
