Stolen trail cameras

Posted

A Mustang man is charged in McClain County District Court with knowingly receiving stolen property after he registered one of two stolen trail cameras in his name.

An arrest warrant is outstanding for Jeremy R. Vance, 41.

According to an affidavit, the cameras’ owner reported on February 13 that they were stolen from her property near May Avenue and 260th Street.

Randi Massey told a sheriff’s deputy the cameras, valued at $200 each, had cell service.

She learned one of the cameras had been deactivated and registered by a new user.

Massey provided the user’s email address to investigators and it was traced to Vance.

In an interview on May 20, Vance admitted being on an oil lease road where the cameras were taken. He told the deputy his SUV became stuck in the mud and that while he was working to free the vehicle, his passenger came back to the vehicle with the cameras.

Vance admitted activating one of the cameras in his name to see if it worked with his cell phone.
