Snap-On brand power hand tools valued at $4,500 that were stolen from a Purcell man’s vehicle were recovered within two days by the McClain County Sheriff’s Department.

Now Jonathan M. Macomb, 23, of Purcell, is charged in McClain County District Court with knowingly concealing stolen property.

An arrest warrant is outstanding.

According to an affidavit, Robert Little who lives on Horse Avenue reported the theft on September 15.

The following day, the husband of Little’s cousin reportedly recovered the stolen tools.

A deputy met with Michael Moss and took the tools.

Macomb rents from Michael Moss and on September 15 texted him and asked if he wanted to buy some tools, according to the affidavit.

Before the men met at Michael Moss’ home, however, Moss received a text from his wife informing him of Little’s loss and providing some of the serial numbers on the tools.

When Macomb arrived with the tools, Michael Moss was able to match several of the serial numbers.

Michael Moss told Macomb the tools were stolen. He took possession of the tools and notified Little.

Macomb said he purchased the tools from a Kevin Moss on September 15. Kevin Moss reportedly told him he needed cash for a sick aunt in Arkansas.

Macomb told the deputy he paid Kevin Moss $100 and was to pay an additional $300 later.
