A giant, slow-moving system had dumped 1.4” of rain in Purcell as of 9 a.m. Wednesday and the rain was continuing.
Weather predictors said it would rain until Wednesday afternoon at least. The much needed rain started falling Tuesday.
The 1.4” and counting leaves this area with 2.7” and counting for the year-to-date.
At this same time period last year 2.2” had been recorded.
In typical Oklahoma weather fashion, temperatures on Monday hit 70 while Tuesday and Wednesday had highs in the high 30s and low 40s.
