Slaughterville playground: Town to build its first east of Town Hall

The Town of Slaughterville is about to add an attraction that will appeal to many children in the area.

The town has approved dedicating all of its ARPA funds toward the development of a new playground, which will be located off of Slaughterville Road, directly east of Slaughterville Town Hall.

Slaughterville officials report this will be the town’s first playground.

“We are thrilled to provide this exciting amenity to our citizens, surrounding community members and future generations,” Town Administrator Ashley Furry said.

“We are also incredibly grateful to Cleveland County and the County Commissioners, who have graciously designated $100,000 of their ARPA funds toward this project,” Furry said.

“These additional funds will help us complete the project, purchase additional playground equipment and secure any other necessary items to ensure we create the best possible playground for our community,” Furry said.

To ensure a high-quality design, the town hired Planning Design Group to create a beautiful and engaging playground that will offer fun for many different age groups.

The construction will be carried out by Lowe Construction, with an expected completion date in September.

“We are extremely excited to see this project come to life and appreciate the continued support from everyone involved,” the administrator concluded.
