Coty Sessions pinned three opponents on her way to a third place finish in the Chickasha Tournament last weekend.
Sessions was in the 107-117 pound bracket taking on girls who outweighed her by 10 pounds.
She was 4-1 in the tournament losing to eventual champion and her friend from Norman North, Devin Jansing.
Next up for Sessions is the 2022 junior high All-State this weekend at the State Fairgrounds.
Freshman are allowed to attend this tournament.
February 14 and 15 is Girls Regionals with a goal of punching her ticket to State.
“We are excited about the weeks to come,” coach Sarah Jones said. “Her hard work and the statement she is making is having her name brought up in a lot of conversations.
“Being a softball coach and seeing your player work through adversity and mental toughness in such a short period of time is really exciting to watch. I’m glad I get to be apart of it,” Jones confirmed.
