Mojo Browning dropped seven treys on his way to a 29 point outing against Lindsay in the final game of the pre-holiday portion of the 2020-21 cage season at The Reimer Center last Tuesday night.

Browning led the Dragons to a 51-45 victory over the Leopards hiking the Dragons’ mark to 5-1 on the season.

“It is always nice to finish the semester out with a win,” Purcell Head Coach Roger Raper said.

“Mojo Browning was incredible tonight with seven three and 29 points.

“Tuesday’s after tournaments are always tough,” Raper continued. “Energy levels are down and you just have to find a way to win. We were able to get the win with great defense.

“Finishing out at 5-1 is a great start and we are still working out the kinks,” Raper concluded.

Purcell led from the get go forging a three point lead after the first period and led by seven at intermission.

Kora Keith led all scorers with 17 points helping David Sikes’ Dragons to their second win of the season.

The Dragons posted a 37-32 senior night victory.

Emily Madden was also in double figures with 10 in the Lindsay contest.

Purcell is 2-4 heading into the holiday break.

“This team has worked hard in the off season,” Sikes said.

“We are still trying to find our identity. We have to focus more on our strengths and continue to improve our weaknesses,”Sikes concluded.

The Dragons came back from a 10-9 deficit after the first quarter to lead by six at halftime.
