Purcell’s Board of Education approved salary schedules for the fiscal year 26/27 for all certified and non certified personnel at its regular August meeting at the administration building Monday night.

The district is exploring the possibility of hiring a school nurse if a grant to cover 90 percent of the costs is received.

The board approved participation in the OSDE Rural Health Transformation Grant for expanding Medicaid billing with the Personnel Recruitment for Implementing Medicaid Services (PRISMS). The plan is to add a nurse as well as materials to set up a health office. The school district would be responsible for 10 percent of the costs.

Fund-raisers were approved for softball, NHS, baseball and other athletic teams.

Board members approved Dr. Sheli McAdoo, Malachi Blaxton, Cindy Stone, Tina Swayze, Rowdy Cole, Tiffany Cook, Rick Hammer, Brian Fitzgerald, Aaron Dillard, Carolyn Anyoung and Amanda Fleming to be personnel evaluators for FY27.

Also approved was the option to operate the school calendar by hours instead of days for a total of 1,086 hours.

The Riley Boatright Plan agreement with Wadley’s EMS was approved and All Sports Pass prices were approved. Adults will be $100, students will be $50 and $20 for seniors. Both the adult and student prices were increased by $10.

Board members approved Christopher Dunshie to teach a seventh grade science class at the junior high school, Eric Patterson a seventh grade science course for one hour and Trent Tresler to teach seventh and eighth grade social studies at the junior high school.

Board members heard a presentation on the school’s wellness policy and Dr. McAdoo gave a presentation on State Question 844.
