While on routine patrol early last Saturday morning Purcell Police Officer Cassie Lewis clocked a vehicle traveling southbound on Green Avenue going 116 m.p.h.
Lewis did a U-turn while turning on her lights and siren at 3:13 a.m.
The vehicle headed for I-35 to enter at the 91 mile marker.
Eventually, the driver of the Kia, 22-year-old Cameron Bradley Jay Conner, pulled over south of the Paoli exit on I-35. His vehicle reached speeds of 122-124 m.p.h. on the Interstate before stopping.
As he was traveling south, Lewis said he was passing vehicles on the left and right. Conner admitted to Officer Lewis he had been drinking.
He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, eluding a peace officer and possession of marijuana.
He was booked into the McClain County jail.
