Purcell headed back to Lindsay

Posted

Purcell will make its second trip this season to Lindsay. This time they face the Leopards in a do-or-die playoff match up.

Back in September Lindsay led 14-7 at halftime before both offenses caught fire in the second half.

Purcell scored four second half touchdowns to pull out the 35-28 victory over the Leopards.

The Leopards run a 3-4 defense and have an offense very similar to that of the Dragons. The perennial rivals should give fans another thriller.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 Saturday night at Lindsay.

Purcell Head Coach Tracy Scott reports Lindsay is a lot better than when his Dragons played them in Week 2.

“They’ve gotten a lot better. It’ll be tough. Lindsay is playing hard and playing well right now,” Scott said.

To make matters worse, the players who are in quarantine will not be able to practice. They will be out of quarantine on Saturday.

“We won’t be able to add anything new,” Scott said.

The Leopards are 5-5 and finished 4-2 for the runner-up to District Champion Marlow in District 2A-4.

The Dragons are 4-5 and 2-3 in district play. They finished fourth in District 2A-3.
