Purcell Commencement Friday

Posted

Purcell’s commencement exercises will be at Conger Field Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Students will receive eight home side tickets and two visitor side tickets to distribute to friends and family members.

“Each student’s group of eight guests must sit together on the home side and the two guests on the visitor side must sit together. Guests must remain on the side that your ticket designates. There will be no exchange between the two sides,” said Purcell Superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo.

Visitor ticket holders will enter on the east side of the stadium. Home side ticket holders will enter at the ticket/concession stand area on the west side of the stadium.

Guests will sign off on a self-assessment on their entry ticket confirming that they are fever free, symptom free and have not been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

“These must be signed for entry and please dress cool, as the weather will be hot,” Dr. McAdoo said.

Face masks are required for everyone. School officials say please plan to bring your own mask.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to The Reimer Center.

Only home side tickets will be allowed to accommodate for appropriate social distancing.

“We encourage those who are unable to attend due to health concerns to watch the event live on Purcell High School’s Facebook page,” Dr. McAdoo said.

The senior breakfast will be at 9 a.m. at Conger Field and followed immediately by graduation practice.

Conger Field will be open Friday from 12-3 p.m. for any graduates that would like to take family pictures prior to graduation. Guests will not be permitted on the field after the graduation ceremony.

Senior diplomas and cumulative folders will be distributed to the graduate after the graduation ceremony if all obligations have been met.

A parent sponsored senior picnic is slated for today (Thursday) at noon at the Purcell Lake Pavilion.
