The City of Purcell, Destination Purcell (Purcell’s Lodging Tax Committee), Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce and Purcell Parks & Recreation invite the community and entire area to attend Purcell Celebrates America’s 250th Independence Day Celebration on Friday at Purcell Lake.

The free community event celebrates America’s 250th Birthday with an evening of family-friendly activities, food trucks, live entertainment, patriotic ceremonies and a spectacular fireworks display over Purcell Lake.

Interim City Manager Bobby Elmore reports the fireworks display this year will be double what past shows have provided.

The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or  blankets to enjoy an evening of community celebration in the Heart of Oklahoma.

“We’re excited to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with our community at Purcell Lake. We’ve added more to this year’s event, including live music, additional food options, and what is expected to be one of our largest fireworks shows yet.

We hope families from across the Heart of Oklahoma and the surrounding area will join us in Purcell as we celebrate this historic milestone together,” Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Elisabeth Baker said.
