Purcell Schools athletic trainer Timothy Arnold was taken into custody Friday by the Purcell Police Department with assistance from the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department.

Arnold, age 41 and of Norman, was arrested on complaints of sexual battery and clandestine manner with photographic/electronic equipment.

Arnold was providing services to the district as a third party through an external organization.

Purcell Schools Superintendant Dr. Sheli McAdoo released the following statement.

“Purcell Public Schools is committed to the safety and well-being of our students, and we commend the courageous student who reported an instance of inappropriate behavior involving an individual who provides services to our district.

“Upon receiving the report, we immediately notified the Purcell Police Department and have been fully cooperating with their investigation.

“Student safety remains our paramount concern, and we will continue to partner with law enforcement as they conduct their work.”

The Purcell Police Department is asking anyone who believes they may have had inappropriate contact with Arnold to come forward. Individuals are encouraged to contact Detective Brayden Gulliver at brayden.gulliver@purcellok.gov.
