Patricia Kay (Folks) Vanlandingham

Patricia Kay (Folks) Vanlandingham, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 11, 1952 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Dorotha Jean (Morris) and W. H. “T-Buck” Folks.
She was a 1970 graduate of Purcell High School. She graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1974. She taught English and Language Arts at Ringling High School (Oklahoma), Mission High School, Harlingen High School, San Benito High School, and Krueger Middle School.
After retiring from teaching, she worked for the San Antonio library system. She was passionate about literature and education and loved animals of all kinds. She was a devoted wife and mother who will be remembered for her bright and engaging personality.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vanlandingham; and parents, W.H. and Dorotha Folks.
Patricia is survived by her son, Jason Vanlandingham and wife, Amanda, of San Antonio; son, Zac Vanlandingham of San Antonio; sister, Karen (Michael) Horoho of Purcell; brother, Lloyd (Linda) Folks of Brazoria, Texas; five nephews and one niece.
A Memorial Service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas 78232.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Defense League of Texas.
