After four days of investigation, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol released details of the grinding, head-on accident March 27 that claimed two lives at mile marker 99 of Interstate 35.

Led by Trooper Bennett, a total of five troopers investigated the double fatality accident.

Bennett reported a red Honda Civic driven by Jonathon Bristow, 57, of Shawnee was traveling north when it departed the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, over corrected, and then crossed the center median at a turn around.

The Honda stuck a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 30 foot car hauler that was carrying two vehicles.

The driver of the truck was reported to be Luis Gonzalez, 49, of Tecumseh. He was not injured.

A passenger in the Honda was Brandy Wolfe, 48, of Shawnee.

Both Wolfe and Bristow were pinned in their vehicle for 90 minutes before being extricated by the Purcell Fire Department.

Assisting Bennett were Troopers Byrne, Terry, Lt. Rawls and Foster of the Public Information Office, McClain County Sheriff’s Department, Purcell Police and Wadley’s EMS.
