Something is going to happen at Purcell that hasn’t happened since 1963.
It’s been 62 consecutive years in the Purcell Public School System with a Frankenberg on the staff.
But with the retirement of Lori Frankenberg at the end of last year there won’t be a Frankenberg in the system.
Pat Frankenberg was a teacher and principal from 1963 to 1993.
Ora Mae Frankenberg (PHS graduating class of 1948) taught school here from 1976 to 1983.
Lori taught here from 1994 to 2025 drawing to a close of 62 years of Frankenberg educators in Purcell School.
It’s been a good run and we appreciate the services of each of them.

The magnitude of the Kerr County, Texas flooding tragedy are very hard to imagine.
The pain would be unbearable for the parents and grandparents losing their daughters and granddaughters.
The death toll, that continues to rise, is up to at least 108 in the Texas Hill Country including 27 young girls from Camp Mystic and a total of 87 from Kerr County.
Another 170, including a camp counselor and five campers, are still missing.
Our hearts ache for the victims and their families.
They are definitely in our prayers.
