Washington Schools add 15 new teachers

The 2022-23 school year at Washington officially opens today (Thursday) and incoming students will find 15 new teachers in the district.

They are Lisa Autry, Chelsi Beard, Laci Clary, Risa Demeter, Ethan Feuerborn, Tiffany Fraley, Steve Hancock, Tangela Hyde, Taylor Pybas, Madison Rea, Kale Simon, Trevor Smith, Heidi Stewart, Amanda Tims and Devyn Wilkerson.

Autry teaches kindergarten and second grade. She graduated from Maysville High School and Oklahoma State University. She previously taught kindergarten at Purcell.

She and her husband, Queston, have three children – Huck, Kyzer and Kipton.

Beard teaches third grade. She is a graduate of Panama High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She previously taught physical education at Lone Grove and second and third grade classical conversations at Ardmore.

She and her husband, Drew, have three children – Bo, Baylor and Ben.

Clary teaches physical education and health at the elementary school. She graduated from Choctaw High School and Mid-America Christian University.

She and her husband, Jay, have two children – Aubri and Kannon.

Demeter is a counselor. She graduated from U.S. Grant High School, the University of Central Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

She was a counselor at Southmoore High School for seven years and taught at Mustang High School and Christian Heritage Academy for a total of 17 years.

She is married to Russ, Demeter.

Feuerborn teaches U.S. government and Oklahoma history. He graduated from Washington High School and Southern Nazarene University and previously was head football coach at Little Axe.

He and his wife, Courtney, have a son, Gunner.

Fraley teaches first grade. She graduated from Christian Heritage Academy and Oklahoma Baptist University and previously taught first grade at Houchin Elementary.

Hancock teaches physical science at the high school. He graduated from Bradley High School and Middle Tennessee State University.

A newcomer to Oklahoma, he is also a track and field official with USA Track & Field.

He and his wife, Bonnie, have a son, Take, and a daughter, Hannah Fatheree.

Hyde teaches first grade. She is a graduate of Anadarko High School and MACU. She previously was a teacher’s aide at Washington and wanted to continue her career there.

She and her husband, Adam, have two children – Addison and Jackson.

Pybas teaches sixth grade social studies and coaches softball and baseball. He graduated from Ringling High School and East Central University. Previously, he taught at Lone Grove.

He and his wife, Micah, have a daughter, Allie.

Rea teaches kindergarten and first grade. She is a graduate of Washington High School and Oklahoma Christian University. She previously taught kindergarten at Bearden Elementary School.

She and her husband, Nick, have a son, Ricky.

Simon teaches math for grades seven through 12, physical education for pre-K through eighth grade and coaches high school girls basketball. He graduated from Moss High School and ECU.

He and his wife, Jenny, have six children – Jaybie, Jazlie, Kelbie, Krozlie, Jentrie and Jorie.

Smith teaches seventh grade geography, world history, health and P.E. He is a graduate of Big Pasture High School and Cameron University and previously taught health and P.E.

He and his wife, Lacy, have a daughter, Laiken, and are  expecting a son in September.

Stewart teaches music at the elementary school. She graduated from Azle High School and Baylor University. She previously taught kindergarten for 11 years in Reno, Nev.

Her husband, Mike, is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Washington. They have four children – Chael, Cadence, Canon and Charis.

Tims teaches sixth grade reading. She graduated from Webbers Falls High School and SWOSU. Previously she taught business, computers and P.E. at Piedmont Schools.

She and her husband, Jeremy, have four children – Jadon, Raely, Curry and Jett.

Wilkerson teaches kindergarten. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School and OU. She previously taught kindergarten at Kennedy Elementary School.

She and her husband, Matthew, have a daughter, Aspen.
