New experience

For Sarah Jones and Sessions

Posted

Principal Jason Sanders asked Sarah Jones to be the school representative of freshman Coty Sessions.

Jones is the Assistant Athletic Director, Special Education/Resource, and Head High School Softball Coach.

Jones was kind enough to answer questions about Coty Sessions. Coty is a wrestler from Purcell High School who has a unique circumstance. She practices at Norman North and also with her Moore wrestling team, but she competes as an individual.

Sessions is a hard-working athlete. She trains approximately eight to 10 hours a week.

Though Jones does not have much experience in wrestling, she is Coty’s biggest cheerleader.

Jones states that the mental toughness Coty exhibits has helped her to win first place in the 114-pound division at the Westmoore Open tournaments.

Jones affirms that Coty is strong, quick, and creative with her moves. She uses her strengths against her opponent’s weaknesses. Though this is an unusual situation for both Jones and Sessions, they are welcoming this new experience into their lives.
