Marsha Gail Johnson died Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 6 months 22 days. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, entrusted to Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Marsha was born May 30, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama, and was a radiant spirit whose life touched the hearts of many.
She was the beloved daughter of W.X. and Bonnie (Walker) Carter. Her early years were spent in the embrace of family in Lexington, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school around 1960.
With a profound dedication to caring for others, Marsha devoted many years of her life to the field of home health, where she served as a compassionate caregiver until her retirement from Encompass Home Health. Her calling was to uplift those around her, a testament to her selfless nature and unwavering work ethic.
On December 12, 2015, Marsha celebrated a new chapter in her life when she married Robert Johnson, embracing the joys of companionship and love. She derived great pleasure from life’s simple treasures, whether that meant exploring garage sales or hosting gatherings with cherished family and friends.
Marsha’s heart was generous, and she found fulfillment in saving lost souls—both human and animal alike. Marsha leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and a love that will continue to resonate in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, W.X. and Bonnie Carter; her sister, Linda High and husband, Raymond; her daughter, Debbie Jackson; her grandson, Kyle Jackson; and her stepdaughter, Tonya Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Johnson; her son, Jamie Jackson and wife, Leisha; her son, David Jackson; her stepson, Jake Johnson and wife, Kylie; her grandchildren, Brooke Jackson, Krysti Jackson, Crissy Joyner, Jax Jackson-Haley, Jace Jackson-Haley and Austin Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Easton, Scarlett, Maverick, Ryder, Karsyn, Baya, Deliah and Jonesie; and numerous other relatives and friends.
