Margee Minter went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2025. She passed quietly after a short period of illness. She had been living in Atlanta, Georgia, near family to be cared for in the last few years.
Margee was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on November 19, 1931. She was married in 1953 to Robert Wiley Minter. She and Bob were graduates of Norman High School in Norman, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and received her Bachelor degree in Education and later a Master of Education at Oklahoma State University. She was a lifelong Sooner fan and was a dyed in the wool OKC Thunder follower.
As a teacher, Margee taught multiple grades to include kindergarten, second and third grades. She taught in Henderson, Nevada, after her marriage, as her husband Bob was in the Air Force and stationed at Nellis AFB. She taught in Manhattan, Kansas, while her husband attended Veterinary School at K-State from 1962-1966. The Minters and their two children, Jon and Lisa then moved to Purcell, Oklahoma, in 1966. She taught there until they moved to Wynnewood, Oklahoma, in 1978. Margee taught grade school there until her retirement. She received numerous Teacher of the Year awards in every school system she was a member of over her entire career.
Her life was built around her home, caring for her family and being an example of a legacy of love for others. She was a wonderful hostess, opening her residence to friends and family. She was active in the AAUW (American Association of University Women) and regularly attended the First Baptist Church in her hometowns. Her life was filled with lasting friendships and those that knew her became forever friends. Margee and her husband Bob loved their ranch in Wynnewood and poured themselves into a wonderful life there. We, her children and grandchildren, will never forget the wonderful times we spent there with them.
She will be missed, but to all that knew her, the memory of her life will always be an inspiration.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, August 6, 2021.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Minter of Oklahoma City and her son, Jon Erik Minter (Konni) of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Austin, Blaire, Colette; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Cynthia Jane Bailey of Fredericksburg, Texas, and her two children, Bryan Bailey and Erin Bailey Carter and their children.
Funeral Services will be scheduled in the future.
