Marcia Lynn Underwood died June 6, 2021 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 50 years 1 month 21 days. Memorial Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Marcia was born April 16, 1971 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Jimmy Mack and Linda May (Mays) Underwood. She was raised in Okmulgee, McAlester, Oklahoma City, and attended school in the Purcell/Norman area, graduating in 1991 from Norman High School.

Marcia battled with cerebral palsy, a battle that didn’t hold her back. At the age of 6 she was crowned “Our Little Miss” and appeared in the 15th annual Cerebral Palsy Telethon on Channel 5. She met stars such as HoHo The Clown, Danny Hodge, and recording artist, Johnny Tillotson.

Marcia loved to learn, spending many years in the programs at the JD McCarty Center. She enjoyed listening to music, especially the Judds, and their song “Love Can Build a Bridge” was her favorite. Marcia had an amazing smile and loved laughing with those around her. Most called her princess, but were not fooled, because they knew she was ornery and had a temper on occasion.

Marica is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Underwood and Linda Mays Underwood; her grandparents, TC and Gladys Underwood; and her brother, Bruce Underwood.

Marcia is survived by her care-giver, Kelly Bowers and husband, Joe; numerous cousins; and many staff members from the facilities Marcia graced with her presence. In the years since the loss of her parents and grandparents, Marcia touched many lives of not only the employees of the facilities entrusted to care for her, but their families and the families of those that came to visit their own loved ones.
