Construction crews began placing the pipes for a new drainage system on the corner of Main Street and 3rd Avenue this past Thursday. Weekly meetings will be held every Tuesday at City Hall beginning at 10 a.m. for residents looking for updates or wanting to voice any concerns related to the StreetScape project.
Officials with Rudy Construction held their second weekly meeting about the Main StreetScape project at Purcell City Hall on Tuesday.
They announced the following:
On Friday they will begin pouring curb and gutter concrete from both the east end of the project and from the west end of the project. Estimates are they can pour 300 feet per day.
In about two weeks they will begin tearing out and pouring concrete up to the thresh hold of buildings. Businesses will not have access to their front doors for a three-day period. Project administrators said they will give businesses 48 hours of notice before their front is inaccessible.
They said after the sidewalk is taken out they will pour the new sidewalk very early in the morning with 24 hours needed for it to dry before it can support traffic.
