Lynne Kay Holkan, 78, of Forney, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, surrounded by family.
Lynne Kay (Weeden) Holkan was born October 1, 1946 to Lewis Eugene Weeden and Marion Louise Weeden in Purcell, Oklahoma. She was the first of four children born to the couple and raised on the family dairy farm in Washington, Oklahoma.
After graduating from Washington High School in 1964, she attended Central State College, where she earned her B.A. in Education in 1968. Lynne taught for several years after receiving her teaching certification and used her love of grammar and the English language in a variety of occupations, until settling down as an Education Specialist at the FAA in Oklahoma City in 1983, where she remained employed in various positions for 34 years.
She had two children and raised them in her hometown of Washington. She retired in 2017 and moved to Texas to be closer to her family. She loved gardening, reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children, Gregory Holkan and wife, Cindy, and Whitney (Holkan) Baker and husband, Danny; her brothers, Scott Weeden, Jon Weeden and wife, Cheryl, and Lew Weeden and wife, Jenene; and her two grandchildren, Audrey and Aidan.
Lynne wished to be cremated and buried beside her parents in the Washington Cemetery in Washington, Oklahoma. Details will be announced at a later date.
