At the risk of getting a zero from OU or offending the late Bing Crosby, I’d say the best Christmas songs are in your church’s hymnal.
Stations started playing Christmas songs well before Thanksgiving and they continue to have play lists that would gag a maggot.
They never seem to play songs like The First Noel, Silent Night, Oh Little Town of Bethlehem, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Angels We have Heard on High, Away in a Manger, Joy to the World or O Come All Ye Faithful.
Many folks have a list of their least favorite Christmas songs and here is one such list.
Dominick the Donkey – Lou Monte
The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) – Chipmunks
Jingle Bells – Don Charles Singing Dogs
I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas – Gayla Peevey
The Christmas Shoes – NewSong
Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer – Elmo and Patsy
Wonderful Christmastime – Paul McCartney
All I Want For Christmas is My 2 Front Teeth – Spike Jones & City Slickers
Do They Know It's Christmas – Band Aid
Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas – The Wiggles.
I’ve personally never heard some of those like the Dominick the Donkey but the one that is my absolute least favorite is You’re a Mean one Mr. Grinch.
I agree about the barking dogs being on the list but I would have Baby It’s Cold Outside right up near the top.
And, you could add Mariah Carey’s All I want for Christmas is You to my least favorite list.
