Funeral services for Lisa Barton, 62, of Lexington will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Landmark Church in Purcell. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
Mrs. Barton passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024.
Lisa Lanette Penner was born on July 30, 1962 in Purcell, Oklahoma, the second of three children born to John Henry Penner and Peggy Golda (Donaho).
Although she was born in Purcell, she was primarily raised in Lexington where she attended school and graduated with the Bulldog Class of 1980. During this time, Lisa caught the eye of a young man named, Tim Edward Barton. The couple fell in love and dated for five years, before they were married on May 15, 1981. They have shared 43 wonderful years of marriage together full of laughter, love, and memories to last a lifetime.
Lisa was driven and dedicated to working hard every single day. While she was still in high school, she began working for Kennedy Pharmacy in Purcell as a pharmacy technician. This sparked a passion in her for helping others, which inevitably fueled her long career in the medical field as both a pharmacy technician and a medical billing specialist. Lisa worked for P&S Pharmacy in Norman for nearly 30 years and then at Norman Regional Hospital until she retired on August 1, 2023.
In her free time, Lisa enjoyed shopping and traveling. She was also a big Sooner’s fan and she loved watching OU football on the weekends. Lisa was a loving mother and caring grandmother, “Lolli”, who was ever present at all of her kids and grandkids extracurricular activities; she was their biggest supporter and number one fan!
Lisa was strong, selfless, and caring in nature. She had a huge heart full of love and compassion. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, H.L Crusty Barton; mother-in-law, Bonnie Barton; and sister-in-law, Pam Penner.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Tim Barton; son, Cody Barton and wife, Jacey; parents, Johnny Penner and Peggy Joslin; two grandchildren, Tripp Barton and Beau Barton; siblings, Marsha Herell and husband, Danny, and Rick Penner; siblings-in-law, Charles Barton and wife, Jo, Dan Barton and wife, Sue, and Jerry Barton and wife, Vonda; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider sharing a favorite memory you have of Lisa.
