The 2020 commencement for Lexington High School will be held at Floyd West Field Friday at 8 p.m.

Diplomas will be handed out by high school principal David McLain at the event that will include social distancing.

Superintendent Chad Hall said there will be 86 seniors crossing the stage to receive their diplomas.

New this year to include the use of the visitor’s stands as well as the home stands the seniors will be seated on the east end of the field facing west, Hall said.

Normally, they are in the middle of the field facing the home stands.

The change is for social distancing, the superintendent said.

He also said masks are not going to be mandatory.

Speakers will be the valedictorians Kaden Claunch, Hannah Robbins and Daniel Spencer and salutatorians Nathan Clegg, Hunter Forbes and Kyle Wilkey.

The vocal music group will sing the national anthem and senior members of the choir will also perform a special number, Hall said.
