Lexington gets close to win

Lexington came close to getting into the win column only to lose by a run to Sulphur 10-9 in extra innings last Friday.

Lexington trailed by six runs in the second inning but battled back thanks to RBIs by Ty Mixon, Drew Dierking and Carter Moore.

Dierking was a perfect 4-4 including a triple at the plate with four RBIs.

Corbin Perry was 2-4 while Mixon knocked in a pair of base runners in his 1-3 outing.

Moore, who took the loss on the mound, had a two-run double in the contest.

Sulphur won the first game of the double header 11-3.

Zeke Faulkenberry led the Bulldog offense going 2-2 with a double and had one RBI.

The day before Bridge Creek pinned a 12-4 loss on the Bulldogs, with Wyatt Webb taking the loss on the mound.

Ean Caywood led the offense going 2-2 including a double with a pair of RBIs. Skylar Rollins had a double in a 1-3 outing and Perry went 2-4.

Lexington was to play at CCS Tuesday and is ticketed to play in the AmPo Tournament this weekend.
