Lex to Holdenville

Posted

Lexington’s football team postponed its homecoming game last week with Crooked Oak when that school was inundated with several positive tests for COVID-19 prior to the game.

The ‘Dawgs will hopefully proceed on this week as they travel to meet the Holdenville Wolverines at 7 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are 1-2 this season.

Holdenville has lost to Wewoka, 33-12, and to Community Christian, 41-8. The Wolverines beat North Rock Creek, 40-0.

Lexington won its season opener at home with a 21-7 victory. The ‘Dawgs lost to Wayne, 22-21, and to Bridge Creek, 27-12, on September 18.

Coached by Monty Lewis, Holdenville is a new district opponent this year for the ‘Dawgs. Lexington head coach Keith Bolles isn’t sure what to expect from the Wolverines this week.

“We’ll have to watch some film of them,” Bolles said. “But, we’ll be ready for sure.”
