Lexington closes out the 2025 football season on the road at Marietta Friday night with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
The Indians operate out of the Flex-bone on offense which in itself presents a problem for the Bulldog defenders.
“It’s not something you see every day,” head coach Keith Bolles said of the multi-option offense,
“It forces you to play assignment football,” Bolles confirmed. “You have to make sure you do your job. We will have to be very disciplined.
Defensively the Indians will operate out of a 3-4 defense.
“But it’s closer to a 4-2-5,” Bolles reports. “They do some different stuff defensively. We’ll have to pay attention and find some areas where we can have success.”
Senior signal caller Cadyn Krueger had a big night in a close 21-14 loss at the hands of Dickson at Floyd West Field.
Krueger carried 26 times for 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns and threw for another 45 yards in a 5-12 night through the air.
Krueger found James McMillian open for a two point conversion bringing the game to a one score affair.
Jonathan Dodd played well at receiver hauling in a pair of Krueger passes for 22 yards.
“Krueger played well on both sides of the ball,” Bolles said. “He plays hard and makes a bunch of yards after contact.
Issac Martin led the Bulldogs in tackling making nine tackles against the Comets. Cale Garver and Colton Richards were both right on his heels with eight stops apiece.
Right behind them were Krueger and Colby Haynes, both with seven stops apiece. Haynes recovered a fumble and Jaxon Torres had not one but two interceptions.
Bulldog notes:
Head coach Keith Bolles nominated Cadyn Krueger as the Offensive Player of the Week. He had 200 yards rushing and two scores and passed for another 54 yards and a two-point conversion.
The Defensive Player of the Week nomination went to Jaxon Torres, who stepped in front of two Comet passes giving the Bulldogs momentum..
The Defensive Lineman of the Week award nominee was Issac Martin at defensive end. Martin made nine tackles against Dickson.
There was no nominee for Offensive Lineman of the Week.
