Lexington’s Bulldogs closed out the 2021 football season on the road at CCS last Friday night, 55-6.

Coach Keith Bolles said his defenders played really hard .

He noted the play of Chase Johnson, Josh Scott, Jimmy Northrup, Heath Winterton, Seth Pyle, Buddy Cormany, Dalton Brewer, Chandler Soto and Wyatt McBride.

“Cormany stepped in and played some linebacker for us,” Bolles said. “We had some young kids that played well. Some of them played in the line that had never played in the line before.”

And, when you talk about utility players Northrup stands alone.

Bolles said Northrup stepped in for a play at quarterback the only position on offense he hadn’t played this season.

“He played running back, tight end, receiver and now quarterback,” Bolles said. “You talk about a utility player.”

“This year is in the books,” Bolles said. “But our players gave effort and as coaches all you want is for them to buy in and give effort.

“We’re going to miss those seniors but we’re looking forward to getting into the weight room and getting ready for next season,” the coach concluded.

Lexington finished the season 3-7.
