Lady ‘Dawgs in Hobart today

Districts start with Lexington vs. Minco at noon

Posted

The Lexington Lady Bulldogs are in Hobart today (Thursday) for the District tournament. They will play Minco at noon. The loser of game one will play Hobart right after.

“We’re a young team and some of these girls will have wide eyes when we get to Hobart. But our juniors and two seniors will rise to the occasion. We’re tough and we have a good shot,” Ervin said.

According to the coach, Minco has a couple big sticks but he feels good about their chances.

Hobart will be good. They are athletic and will be a tough test, according to Ervin.

Blanchard

The Lady Bulldogs picked up a 15-5 win over Blanchard on Monday night for Senior night.

“We played well and the top of our lineup is solid. When they come around our offense is pretty good,” head coach Monty Ervin said.

Despite shortstop Brodie Anderson out, Ervin’s team has stepped up to fill her shoes and he believes they will take that extra step to fill in the gap without her.

Little Axe

Last Thursday, Lexington picked up two wins over the Lady Indians, 12-2 and 10-2.

Through two games Lex had 28 hits and 20 RBIs.

Izzy Pack finished both games with six total hits and three ribbies. Abby Sample and  Kieley Givens each finished with four hits and five RBIs through both games.

“We hit the ball well and we had some nice defensive plays. We’re solid on defense, even without Brodie, but we miss having her out there,” Ervin said.

The Lady Bulldogs were at Norman North on Tuesday for a doubleheader with the Timberwolves.
