On Monday night the Wayne Lady Bulldogs added a 13-3 win over Bray-Doyle to their season record.
Freshman Maddie Moreno shined in the circle and at the plate. She went 3-3 with a triple and two singles and three RBIs.
She also pitched four innings, striking out three and allowing three runs on five hits.
Wayne collected 11 hits in the win. Audra Watts also had three while Cylie Jones had two. Taelyn Ringwald, Alyssa Hobson and Addison Clagg had one hit apiece.
“We ran the bases well against Bray-Doyle. We’ve struggled defensively this season, but I think we’re starting piece it together,” head coach Nikki Herrin said.
The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to travel to Rush Springs on Tuesday. They will be in Allen on Thursday and at Elmore City on Monday.
“Those teams will play good ball. We’ll have to compete to stay in the game and give ourselves a chance,” Herrin said.
Last week, Wayne dropped two games – an 11-3 loss at Velma and an extra-innings 7-6 loss at Empire.
