A viewing will be held for Johnny Lee Embry, 68, of Lexington from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
Mr. Embry passed away on January 21, 2025.
Johnny Lee Embry was born on February 11, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma, to Donnie Vester Embry and Rosa Lee Embry (White). He grew up in the Corbett community, and attended school in Lexington.
Johnny held several jobs before he found his true calling in the kitchen. He was a cook for most of his working years, turning out hot meals at Jospeh Harp Correctional Facility, Lexington Nursing Home and Rubys in Purcell. He loved making pies, and cooking in his own kitchen at home for his family.
When he wasn’t working, Johnny loved to fish anywhere he could. He coached softball for his girls when they were young, and loved to spend time with his family. Johnny was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donnie Embry and Rosa Bryen; his step-dad, William Bryen; his sister, Linda Madden and brother, Coy Embry.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home; his children, Genna Hightower of Slaughterville, Melissa Perry and husband, David, of Seminole, Shawna Galaviz of Purcell, Cassie Drury of Moore, Tracey Morris and husband, Mike, of Mustang and John Hill and wife, Jessica, of Washington; his siblings, Donnie Embry of Purcell, Steve Embry of Lexington, David Embry of Wayne and Cathy Graves of Needville, Texas; eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
