Funeral services for Jack Lucy, 82, of Purcell will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
Mr. Lucy passed away Friday, December 12, 2025.
Jack David Lucy was born May 1, 1943 in McLoud, Okla., the fourth of five children born to David Anthony Lucy and Elma Marie (Radebaugh) Lucy. He was raised in McLoud and attended school there, graduating with the Redskins Class of 1961.
He grew up without a television and took interest in music at an early age. Jack played in the Redskins Band and was the 1st Drum Major for the program. He enrolled at Oklahoma State University, and it was here he met his life partner and best friend, Lucretia Gail Farris. They fell in love and married a few short months later, on November 10, 1962 in Stillwater.
Jack worked full time to support his young family, and yet continued taking classes when he could, later graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics. Jack and Lucretia made their home in Dallas, where they raised their son Greg, and daughter Michelle. At this time, Jack worked for Great American Insurance.
By 1991, they settled in Purcell and purchased the Purcell Farm Store. They renamed it Purcell Farm and Ranch Supply and owned and operated until selling it to his son, Greg. Even in retirement, Jack was a fixture in the store. He genuinely loved his work and his customers, many of whom had built long lasting friendships throughout the years.
He loved all things Oklahoma State, and cheered hard for the Cowboys and OKC Thunder. Jack was a man of great faith and longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia Lucy; his parents, David and Elma Lucy and his siblings, Roy Lucy, Fay Nielson, Donald Lucy and Joe Lucy.
Jack is survived by his son, Greg Lucy and wife, Brenda, of Purcell; daughter, Michelle Whitaker and husband, Patrick, of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Amory, Heather, Jackson, Georgia, Deana Allen and Clay King; great-grandchildren, Asia, Maddison, Caiden and Colby; and a host of other family and friends.
