The Purcell Public Library will present the “Mixed Media Geode Drawings” with the Oklahoma Museum of Art on Thursday, July 16, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the library.
Inspired by the beauty of prehistoric geode formations, participants will create a one-of a-kind geode-inspired artwork using drawing and mixed media techniques.
Once complete, each geode drawing will be carefully cut out and mounted to a solid background, resulting in a finished piece that highlights pattern, color, and texture.
The program is for teens ages 12-17 and registration is required.

The Purcell Public Library will present the “Early Explorers” Saturday, July 18, from 10-11 a.m. in the meeting room of the library.
During this play time, children are encouraged to embrace their curiosity through exploring various stations with their peers. This self-guided, play based learning experience will help prepare your child for successful interactions and learning at school.
Grownups will be encouraged to play through each station with their child to support interaction and learning with others.

Children and families alike will roar with delight as they help the magician uncover the secrets of the dinosaurs in this fast-paced, interactive performance that makes learning about the past magical.

The Purcell Public Library will present the “Impact Engineering: Outsmarting Dinosaurs” with Science Museum Oklahoma Wednesday, July 22, from 2-2:45 p.m. in the meeting room of the library.
Think you could survive the Mesozoic era? In this hands-on engineering challenge, teens design and build protective gear, structures, or shields that could withstand a dinosaur strike, then put their creations to the test.
Along the way, we’ll explore how real predators attacked and how prey defended themselves. It’s part science, part strategy, and all out survival.

Here’s a really good dessert!
Country Dove Lemon Jell-O
2 small lemon Jell-O
1 large can pears, drained and reserved
8 oz. cream cheese
12 oz. Cool Whip
Heat reserved pear juice. In the blender, mix the hot juice and Jell-O. Add all other ingredients until smooth.
Spread in a dish and chill until set. Cut and serve in squares.
